| Lifeguarding/First
Aid/CPR: $120 ACA/$150 non-ACA (includes
book and face mask). May 9, 6pm - 10pm
and May 10, 8am - 8pm and May
11, 8am
- 6pm. Prerequisites: Must be at least
15 years old by May 11, 2008. Must be
able to swim 300 yards of breaststroke
and front crawl continuously; surface
dive to a depth of 10 feet to retrieve
a 10-pound brick and return it to the
surface; and swim 20 yards with the brick. |
| Lifeguarding/First
Aid/CPR Challenge: $40 ACA/$50 non-ACA.
May 11, 12pm - 6pm. Prerequisites: Same
as Lifeguarding course above. This is
a Challenge class and students must be
able to demonstrate all land and in-water
skills from the 2006 “LIfeguarding” Manual
without coaching and pass all written
exams. Students must provide their own
rescue mask for CPR skills. |
| Small
Craft Safety/Canoe & Basic Water
Rescue:
$20 ACA/$25 non-ACA (includes book).
May 10, 8am - 6pm. Prerequisites: Must
be able to float or tread water for
1 minute without a life jacket, swim
any stroke for 25 yards both with and
without a life jacket, and demonstrate
basic canoe-handling skills. This is
not a canoeing skills or canoe instructor
class. |
| Emergency
Response Challenge (fulfills Standard
HW-1B and 1C): $55 ACA/$70 non-ACA.
May 11, 8am - 6pm. Prerequisites: Must
be able to demonstrate all skills from
the ARC Emergency Response curriculum,
including CPR/PR, AED, oxygen administration,
backboarding, primary & secondary
surveys (SAMPLE & DOTs),
lifts/carries/moves, blood pressure,
bandaging, and splints. This course includes
time for review, questions, and practice
and will be followed by testing in all
skills and written exams. Students must
provide their own rescue mask for CPR
skills. |
| CPR
for the Professional Rescuer Challenge:
$20 ACA/$25 non-ACA. May 11, 1pm -
3pm. Prerequisites: Must be able to
demonstrate all CPR for the Professional
Rescuer skills and pass written exam.
This is not a review course. Students
must provide their own rescue mask
for CPR skills. |

18-22 — Level 1 Five Day Ropes Facilitator
Certification Class
Class: 40+ hour class plus 1 testing
day conducted in five consecutive days
Skills: Low ropes, high ropes (setup,
belaying, rescue), group processing (minimal
coverage of this), technical skills (knot
tying, etc.)
